These terms govern your use of NovelKnow. By creating an account you agree to them.
Your account
You need an account to use NovelKnow. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 13.
Your content is yours
You retain all rights to everything you write in NovelKnow. We claim no ownership of your manuscripts, outlines, characters, or any other content you create.
You grant us only the narrow, revocable licence needed to operate the service: to store your content, display it back to you, back it up, and transmit it to an AI provider when you trigger an AI action. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
AI-generated output
NovelKnow helps you generate text using third-party AI models. You should understand that:
- Output may be inaccurate, derivative, or unsuitable for your purpose. You are responsible for reviewing what you publish.
- The legal status of AI-assisted work varies by jurisdiction and may affect copyright in your finished work. We do not give legal advice on this.
- The AI provider's terms also apply to requests routed to them.
Acceptable use
Do not use NovelKnow to create or distribute content that is unlawful, that sexually exploits minors, that harasses or defames real people, that infringes someone else's rights, or that you are otherwise not permitted to create. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, circumvent access controls, or use it to send spam.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.
Plans and payment
NovelKnow offers a free tier. Paid plans, where available, are billed in advance through Stripe on the interval shown at checkout. You can cancel at any time and your plan remains active until the end of the paid period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
We may change pricing, but not for a period you have already paid for.
Availability
We work to keep NovelKnow available and your data intact, but the service is provided "as is". We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Keep your own backups of work that matters to you — the export function exists for this reason.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of your use of NovelKnow is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost data.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Termination
You can stop using NovelKnow and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the service, in which case we will give reasonable notice where we can so you can export your work.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will update the date above and notify account holders. Continuing to use NovelKnow after a change means you accept it.
